The Story: Thinking Beyond the Canvas
Hello, my name is Mary. I am a Catholic, Artist, Homeschooling mom, with a deep rooted passion for Faith, Art and Beauty.
‘Behold the Handmade’ was officially launched on March 25th, 2024 on the feast of Annunciation as an attempt to bring together Faith, Art and Beauty into the everyday mundanity, by bringing forth inspiration and hope through offering products that displays art not just on canvas but also on everyday items. The foundation for this initiative came from "Letter to the Artists" by Saint John Paul II, leading me to realize my vocation as an "Artist". The inspiration for the store's name stems from mother Mary’s profound response: "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your will." - a phrase that resonated deeply with me in prayer and reflection as this store is my heartfelt response to a call that I had long felt within me to multiply what I have been given.
